We live in a world where some people have no option but to flee their homes and countries and rely on
the kindness of strangers to help them start again. Australian communities have proven to be generous
and welcoming when given the opportunity to do so. This has certainly been proven true in Bass Coast.

Community Refugee Sponsorship is a practice that enables individuals in a local area to come together to
form a sponsorship group, which commits to providing financial, emotional and settlement support to
refugee newcomers over a 12-month period. The sponsorship group becomes deeply and directly involved
in supporting refugees to apply their skills, realise their goals and ultimately contribute to their new
communities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to utilise the energy, resources and social capital of our community to help refugees successfully settle in Bass Coast and begin rebuilding their lives.

Your Opportunity

Helping refugees inevitably costs money.  We have some generous donors but our work continues, so donations are really appreciated.

If you have enthusiasm and a desire to help refugees, there are many ways to get involved, depending on your skills, experience and interests.
