Helping Refugees Settle in Bass Coast
We live in a world where some people have no option but to flee their homes and countries and rely on the kindness of strangers to help them start again.
Australian communities have proven to be generous and welcoming when given the opportunity to do so. This has certainly been proven true in Bass Coast.
Community Refugee Sponsorship is a practice that enables individuals in a local area to come together to form a sponsorship group, which commits to providing financial, emotional and settlement support to refugee newcomers over a 12-month period. The sponsorship group becomes deeply and directly involved in supporting refugees to apply their skills, realise their goals and ultimately contribute to their new communities.
The Journey To Bass Coast
We can only imagine the life experiences refugee families have prior to arriving in Australia and the trauma they deal with still, but we can all be very proud of our generous community.
We should all quietly celebrate our fortunate lives and the gift we have to make a difference for others.
It is a privilege.
Our Mission…
… is to utilise the energy, resources and social capital of our community to help refugees successfully settle in Bass Coast and begin rebuilding their lives.

Donate (if you can)
Helping refugees inevitably costs money. We have some generous donors but our work continues, so donations are really appreciated.
